Welcome to our blog!

“Inspiring Teaching; Inspiring Learning”

This is the blog of the Association of National Teaching Fellows in the UK. The association comprises of over 500 members of higher education staff who have been recognised through the Higher Education Academy’s National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) scheme. The scheme recognises and rewards individual excellence in teaching in higher education in England, Northern Ireland, and since 2011 also Wales. The NTF Scheme was started by the Higher Education Funding Council for England in 1999 with the first awards in the year 2000. Around 55 awards are made annually from a process that requires applicants to provide an evidenced and endorsed case of their approaches to teaching, and how their work has impacted their institutions and even the UK and internationally. The application is assessed by two independent reviewers and is matched to set criteria. There are over 580 NTFs.

This blog was set up in January 2014 so we are just finding our feet. It is intended to be an informal and fun space to represent the work of UK National Teaching Fellows.
