ANTF Symposium, Aston Conference Centre, 5-6 March 2020

Resplendent in their Robes!

Along with the exciting news that Ede & Ravenscroft have kindly offered to sponsor the Association of National Teaching Fellows 10th Annual Symposium, we have received a number of photographs of fellows looking rather wonderful in their robes on graduation days and other ceremonial occasions.

First up! Dr Marina Orsini-Jones.
Here is Marina in her Ede and Ravenscroft’s Coventry University PhD gown. Marina is currently Principal Lecturer and Coordinator of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Network in the Faculty of Business, Environment and Society at Coventry University. She received her National Teaching Fellowship award in 2013.

Next up! Dr Jo Brown.

Jo is a Reader in Medical Education at St George’s, University of London. Jo is photographed here with colleagues also in their Ede & Ravenscroft gowns, alongside a picture of Jo in action teaching third year medical students. Jo received her National Teaching Fellowship award in 2012. Jo’s robes represent her EdD (Doctorate in Education) awarded at the Institute of Education, University College London.

And finally! Dr David Evans, University of Greenwich.

David was awarded his National Teaching Fellowship in 2014 and here he is photographed with Baroness Joyce Gould (both in the gold robes of Greenwich) when she received her honorary doctorate for her work in sexual health, and that was part of David’s “claim for excellence” for the NTF.  Also photographed is Prof. Elizabeth Meerabeau (then the Dean of Health, red robes) and the Vice Chancellor of Greenwich University.

Finally, here is David demonstrating the robustness of Ede & Ravenscroft hats, which it must be said, probably take quite a bashing at graduation time.
